Your tasks

In this role, you’ll work independently within a small embedded software team, creating new test plans and ensuring existing test plans are kept up to date as we develop new features and functionality. You will write and maintain manual and automated test scripts for both system and regression testing., whilst maintaining automated test framework and infrastructure.

A key part of your role is also to research and provide expert opinions on testing methodologies and best practice, including providing support to our manufacturing team and preparing as well as reviewing customer facing documents as required and relevant.

Your profile

To be successful, you’ll need to be degree qualified in relevant subject with few years’ experience working in a software development and testing environment. You’ll also need to have excellent scripting skills in shell and python; experience of test case development with embedded software and you should also have at least a basic understanding of POSIX API and Linux working environment.

Significant experience of designing and maintaining test automation is a key, with Jenkins CI experience. Understanding of the software release process and a Test Driven Development approach is important. Knowledge of networked applications using IPC, TCP & UDP via sockets API would be particularly beneficial as is hands on hardware experience (finding hardware faults through software).

Key to this role is your desire to learn new skills, your attention to detail and the ability to organise your work effectively in a fast paced, demanding environment.
