Your tasks

Main targets and KPIs of this job:
Actively contribute to the overall On time Delivery objective (DP1.1)
Actively contribute to the overall Service Level objective (DP2.0)
Actively contribute to the overall Inventory objective (Inventory turnover (ITO) and inventory provisions)
Confirm delivery dates within 48hrs (Response time)

Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials, and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
Research and evaluate areas of opportunity to reduce costs. .
Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required.
Develop creative and innovative procurement processes.
Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and review opportunities to realize savings and improve terms of business, utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
Mentor junior level purchasing associates.
Actively and closely collaborate with planning team in order to get best possible delivery dates to serve our overall committed customer delivery dates.
Collaborate with the local Supply Chain Manager as well as global sourcing and category management.
Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.
Conduct operative purchasing tasks based on the global H+S process (ORF11).
Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Coordinate with planning, logistics and quality for daily business.
Coordinate with departments to ensure that material is available as required to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
Define the desired purchasing lot size, including evaluating future demand
Derive the demand for BOM components out of SAP-ERP.
Develop specifications for new products or processes.
Examine and analyze departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; determine method to process requisition based on spend , timeliness required and any existing open contracts.
Handle external processing tasks like plating, heat treatment or jacketing.
Implement organizational process or policy changes.
Maintain services and office equipment by conferring with suppliers; monitoring and recording service agreements to ensure terms are met.
Manage supplier returns in case of quality issues (RMR).
Monitor supplier delivery schedule and intervene in case of problems.
Monitor the purchasing schedule and identify possible delays in order to trigger the early warning process.
Monitoring of supplier delivery performance in order to avoid supply constraints.
Negotiate sales or lease agreements for products or services.
Develop supplier relationships and resolve supplier issues.
Responsible for the communication of material status throughout the entire procurement cycle.
Schedule product or material transportation.
Source MRO (material required for organization like office supplies, tools etc.)
Support our purchase price index goals / continuous cost improvements.
All other relevant duties as assigned.


Your profile


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field

Experience:
5+ years’ experience in a purchasing or production planning role in a technical or production environment

Skills/Knowledge:
Advanced SAP knowledge.
A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Electronic mail software: Microsoft Outlook
Strong negotiating skills
Decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Capable of handling multiple tasks in parallel
Ability to prioritize
